His freedom bought by an anonymous U.S. Mint employee, immigrant John Reich went on to become a Mint engraver and created the famous Capped Bust Liberty design. Reich’s elegant Liberty saw heavy duty as it was used on other U.S. silver coin denominations for the next 30 years! These specimens are silver half dollars from 1809-1836 and come in Fine condition or better.
