Following the outrage over the release of the 1907 $10 Gold Indian without the motto “In God We Trust,” the U.S. Mint added it back beginning in 1908. One of the most attractive coins ever, the head of Liberty crowned by an Indian war bonnet was designed by Augustus Saint-Gaudens at the request of President Theodore Roosevelt, who desired to reinvigorate U.S. coinage. Minted in .900 fine gold, each 1908 $10 Indian comes in at least About Uncirculated condition.
